I make units of all shapes and sizes, using all types of materials. Here are a few samples...

Location: Kloof, Durban

Bathroom Vanity Unit

The unit was built using a custom cast concrete counter top and pine base. The concrete was cured for 14 days before being removed and worked upon.
After completion it was treated with a stone sealer to give it a darker, water resistant finish

  • Open shelves for easy access
  • custom made concrete counter top
  • The unit is slightly higher than standard unit heights to accommodate the owners own preference

This Vanity unit was a pleasure to make.

I love being able to mix different materials together when making furniture.

I think this pairing of the natural concrete colour surface with the slight off-white finish to the wood gives this unit a very contemporary, stylish look.

Custom sized, Built in Wardrobe

This beautifil and large wardrobe was built using 18mm Ply as the inner shell and Pine for the doors and drawer stoppers

  • All drawer joins are hand made box joints for added strength
  • The unit was custom built to fill an existing space in the new bedroom
  • The entire unit was handmade by HARRIS Building & Design

Sewing Table and Wardrobe

These two units were a mixed material construction.

The customers wanted something she could work on allowing her to have two machines operational at the same time, while offering adequate space to work, while he wanted additional space to store his motorcycle clothing and equipment.

We worked together on a basic layout and using some simple computer deigns we were able to finalize what best suited them.

Once all designs and measurements and materials were confirmed I was able to start fabrication.

The wardrobe was made using Oak style 16mm Melamine. The pieces were factory cut from my supplied measurements then custom fitted.

The sewing table had a white 16mm Melamine drawer unit, also factory cut to supplied sizes and fitted by us. The top table and shelf was made using 21mm Ply board.

Other than all the wood being factory cut, all units were hand made by HARRIS Building & Design.

As an additional piece, a simple wooden in-drawer thread holder was created using left over 21mm Ply board and 6mm Dowel cut and sharpened.
